we played some cracking football first half but couldn't put the game to bed. Unfortunately Meadow Lane has become a bit of an albatross now and we'll have to work hard to overcome that in time to save the promotion push.

No real shade on Slocs because it wasn't really his fault per se, but for me if Bass had played we wouldn't have conceded today. Yet another big loss.

After the lift from Tuesday, today will feel like a heavy body blow to everyone concerned. It's important we try and take the positives from the first half and build on that. Grant was very good, much more involved. Our movement generally was much better. Palmer's corners much better, Jatta - you can see how much more confident he is with Didz in the team - hard to be too harsh on a 20+ goal/season striker, but he still needs to be even more clinical. Great to see Jarvis get his goal.

It's getting intense as we can see the finishing post so understandably feelings running high. Still think it's ludicrous to be calling for SM's head after every disappointment. We're not capable of taking this league by storm no matter how cr@p it is, but then no team is, so we have to have realistic expectations. We're still in the mix so it's time to mix it up not run around in circles pulling our pigtails.

We are as low as we are because the club has been chronically badly run, not due to a lack of support, potential, historical significance or reputation, it's bad ownership, period. Saying that has got nothing to do with arrogance. If Everton dropped into League One then anybody who knew anything about football would be saying they are too big to hang around at that level and that it would only be a failure of how the club is being run that would leave them languishing at that level.

I don't understand the "this league is crap" narrative. WE'RE in it, that makes it the best league ever.

And, seriously, how do we know it's crap. The only thing we have to compare other teams with is... our team. And our team routinely beats clubs that got relegated from L1. This isn't a crap league, it's obviously hugely competitive. Look how few points separate the top several spots.

It was known as the basement division because it was the lowest a professional club could possibly sink, unless you were so bad you got voted out, before they introduced relegation into the part time league. It's a division in which supporters of professional city based clubs who normally turn off for Blackpool have to go on to Fleetwood, who normally turned off for Burnley to go to Accrington, who went up to Middlesbrough but now have to stop short at Harrogate etc. It's a humiliation ritual, but some people do like that sort of thing.

It's going to require one of the lowest points totals ever to get promoted this season. A few weeks ago some folk were worried 85 points wouldn't be enough when the reality is you'll probably only need 79. The general standard of football in this league is garbage. Watch a match in League One and then compare it to the stuff in League Two and you'll soon realise.

Spot on, as usual. The crying shame is, this is a poor poor league and Notts?s propensity to ?switch off? or lower the gears is ultimately going to cost the club dearly. They say that football is a game of two halves but in Notts?s case, it?s a game of one half.

Too much showboating, too much tippy tippy, too much walking aimlessly about, too much negativity. Not enough urgency, not enough desire to win, not enough intent.

Carry on and another year in this ****hole league awaits and another year we can look forward to being outfought by a ****housery team like Chesterfield.

We played some magic football first half of Jatta and other weren?t so wasteful we should have been out of sight.
Teams came out for the second half, Paul cook stuck an extra man in midfield for them and Maynard had no idea what to do about it apart from play so deep compared to the first half.
First half Abbott was effective soon as SM told them to play deep he was non existent.

Really surprised that people aren’t talking about how weak the midfield was in the second half. We all saw Platt have a bad game. Too many hoofs and silly mistakes.
But, imo, we lost the game in the midfield (again) No doubting Abbotts skill, but with Palmer as a partner, it doesn’t work. Palmer is a shell of the player he was before the injury, and we’re well past the ‘let him get up to speed’ period now. Set pieces are rubbish from him and he has no bite or tackle.

Unfortunately, I can’t see him being dropped and teams will continue to pass straight through us or over us like they did today.

The game today was typical us. Half the fans saw a good performance and the other half saw a good first half, but no goals, then the typical walking football, passing for no reason rubbish, that we’ve slipped badly back towards in the second half.

Players at fault today? Yes. Maynard take some of the blame? Definitely. What are they training for if they can’t organise a game plan for more than half an hour? Normally it’s us slow start, conceded, and then we wake up. Today we went for it immediately and the patterns of play as they call them, looked good, but no end result equals a stronger (physically) passing through the midfield and scoring when the opps arise.
