My message to the players would be that if they can win six of the next eight games, that's highly likely to get them in the top three, given how the teams around us keep dropping points. Promotion's sitting there on a silver platter waiting to be collected, but to grab it, we'll need to play really proactive, positive, forward-looking football. We've still got too many players at the moment wanting to be safe and not make mistakes, rather than risking it for the biscuit.

The home performances certainly haven't been a patch on what we used to see under Luke Williams. The entertainment value, particularly since the turn of the year, has been really poor. In possession we play at a frustratingly slow pace and the number of backwards and sideways passes is just infuriating. The only time we really look exciting and actually put some pace into our play is when we lose the ball, win it back and then break away down the field.

Whatever the remaining results this season, and wherever it may take us, I would be surprised if the owners aren't concerned about the performances and the entertainment value, because we're a tough watch most of the time, and that isn't going to keep bums on seats forever.
