I'm not sure what our level is or what is expected on the gates we get. However, Bradford got 23,000 on Saturday against Colchester. I think we'd struggle to get that many in the Premiership on most occasions, even if the ground could hold that amount.

A good thought Lullapie. I saw their gate size and wondered if maybe it would be beneficial for Notts if we adopted their style pricing? i believe they sell their season tickets at knock down prices hence why they regularly get large crowds. I'm not sure what the price is but does anyone here have any idea what they sell at ? Does anyone think that the brothers should try and copy this format and would it work for little old Notts bearing in mind we aren't a premiership side unlike Bradford !?

If Maynard leaves, and I'm not sure he will, I'd take Williams back. Let's see what he can do with a better defence. Yes, people say never do back, but it happens often in management. Sirrel managed us on multiple occasions. I've lost count of how many times Martin Allen has returned to Barnet. Lindsey has returned to Crawley.

Other than Williams, I'd have been tempted by Lindsey, but that ship has flown. Dean Brennan at Barnet is another one. Got Wealdstone promoted with Maynard as his understudy. Going to get Barnet promoted this season. Has a big character - the type of character that will unite fans and players.

Knowing the bros, it'll be another young coach we've not heard of who may or may not succeed.

I'm torn on Maynard. On the one hand, promotion is there for the taking this season, and we're just not positive enough to take it. It has never really felt like a promotion campaign. On the other hand, we're somehow within touching distance of the auto spots, despite selling Crowley and Macca and having JJ out virtually all season, plus loads of other injuries that have meant we've never had a full-strength side out.

Ultimately, we're not good enough to go up, and our home form is the killer. Like Curle, it may be the boring home performances that decide the club's position and the coach's fate. Still, I can't help but feel we'd be winning these games with our best players either fit or not sold. That's not Maynard's fault.

I've never felt like Maynard had the character to get us promoted. It seems to be a necessary ingredient in turning good sides into great ones. Williams had it, Cooke at Chesterfield has it, I'm just not sure Maynard does. That said, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, and I'd truly love to be proven wrong.

Whats this Love in for Cook all about ? Maynard has got us higher in the table and they are not exactly shy in spending fraudulently obtained cash on players are they ? Cook has had longer to build his team, Maynard is work in progress. Both teams have had injuries i presume our list is both longer in time and personnel.I think they have struggled with injuries from the xmas period.?

Look at the team sheets for every game and you'll see Notts with the fewest players. To make up the numbers we'll put players in unfamiliar positions simply to fill the eleven required to start a game and some of these will be out of their preferred position. An injury to a ***** player will mean putting in someone not quite good enough for a first team choice. We have too many walking wounded and an injury or suspension to even a second choice player easily leaves us open for the opposition manager to pounce, and they do, we've seen it.

I've given Maynard plenty of stick before now but this isn't of his making. Believe me, the substandard performances we are seeing now is becoming the norm.

We sign a racehorse one week and a donkey the next.

It's not a love-in, but you can't deny his achievements. He's won four promotions with three different sides. How many other managers can claim that? Like it or not, he's a better manager than Maynard until proven otherwise. My point is that it often takes an extra ingredient to turn an OK manager/coach into one that wins promotions. Paul Cook has that ingredient, but it's not clear that Maynard does.

Teams managed by coaches with that extra ingredient tend to find a way to win. They snatch victories from the jaws of defeat rather than the other way around. Again, like him or not, Parkinson at Wrexham has that ingredient. They seem to play awful football to the point that even their fans are fed up, but somehow they keep scraping wins and are looking good for a third straight promotion - yes, with ridiculous funds, but money doesn't guarantee success.

I still believe that calling for your managers head when you are 2 points off automatics with 8 games to go is unbelievable but is seems that tactically Maynard struggles at times & it would be great if we could get someone with Cooks nous along side him. COYP

I?m struggling with the Cook one, similar budget to us in the NL and we finished 27 points in front. I imagine it?s similar this season, the likes of Grigg and Madden will be on a small fortune as examples.
He wasn?t out thought by him last game, they were very fortunate to win the game, that?s the facts.
We?re not going to sack him now but obviously it will be reviewed in the summer anyway regardless to where we finish and if we think there?s better available then we should make the move.

I have no problem with Paul Cook? he?s a very capable manager. However, comparing one manager who?s been in the game for the best part of 20 years with one in his infancy is mind boggling.
Who knows how successful Maynard may or may not be.
The bros have a clear identity of how they want the club to look and function. It?s very much taking a coach/player on who have scope to improve markedly. With both it may take several seasons and yes there will be failures along the way.
