I'm all for your idea of getting them in early. They must have a priority list and be all geared for the action.
The sooner they are in and settled and working together with the squad remaining the better.
I used to cringe at Fatso Ashley's methods of leaving it to the very last minute to scrape up some scraps on the cheap.
It was proved season after season to be a failure.
