That was an insane Toonali goal.

    Great 3 points though.

Up to 5th with a game in hand on one point ahead 4th.

A bump back down to earth? but a bump that came with 3 points.

Nice wake up call to the players, tough game will get the cup win out of the system better than an easy win? and help refocus them on the remaining 9.

    Gordon back next game.

Listening on the radio with s slow stream that kept jamming - didnt enjoy that much, but delighted with the three points.
We played like in the cup final for the first 5 minutes then were a bit meh.
Well find out later but I think Tonali meant the shot (its the way his foot was angled) - sounds like he was immense with Tino playing a cracker too.

I worry these days about Wilson coming on to hold on to a lead or finish a game. He doesnt offer enough danger anymore - Id be inclined to try Osula to see out a game.

Would echo your thoughts lads. Not a comfortable watch but 3 points won. Wilson doesn't fill me with confidence and may need minutes at his age to sharpen. I'd rather see Osula too TT.

For me Gordon has the edge in the next one Ian. I agree.

    Leicester away. Lets go.

What a player we have in Tonali, he is definately becoming our most important midfielder IMO.

Great win given how well Brentford played and what our players have been through mentally as well as physically.

Games in the Prem are often decided on small margins so our exertions/celebrations could easily have tipped the balance. Yes, we can play better but that is such a good 3 points.

Oh, and we won a cup!

Back to business as usual. The league grind against a very good Brentford team who have won 5 in a row on the road. Thomas Frank has them playing very well this season and all credit to them. Brentford there moments.

When the got the goal. Nailed on pen BTW. No argument at all. Pope was 2nd to the ball. They got their tails up, the game ebbed and flowed, we rod out luck. The Pinnock header off the post could have been pivotal but every successful team needs a bit of luck. Isak's goal was a bit lucky too, Bumo slipped, Isak's touch redirected off his foot as he lay on the ground.

Overall we deserved the win but this shows how tight things are at the top end of the Prem.

I would love to see how well Real, Barca & Athleti would do getting beaten up by Prem teams every week. It's a different animal to the stand off and accept defeat league matches they face against bottom half La Liga teams.

    Tonali's finish was spectacular!

Fantastic honesty from him to say it was 70% a cross, 30% a shot. He's such a good player that, if he'd claimed he intended it, most folks would have believed him.

As a lad Mr Brownhill, my sadistic 2ndry school sports teacher, Old school, moustache, short shorts... All you lads of a certain age know exactly the guy I'm describing... When you've got nothing on punt the bleeder at the goal and hope for the best!

Sandro took a page out of Auld psycho Brownhill's play book!

He's other gospel, one for the defenders, 'When it doubt, boot it out!'

    Simpler times.

He is being very modest, it couldn't have been a cross as it almost hit the Brentford keeper and there weren't any of our players anywhere near for it to have been a cross. In other words had he meant a cross it would have been more accurate to an attacker than it was.
