We will finish in a considerably better position this season than last season, so that by definition is progress and something upon which to build, but I don't think it's asking too much to expect the football on offer to be watchable as well. There have been a few genuinely decent 'moments' of entertainment such as the second half against MK Dons, but I have to say, Maynardball overall looks like a close relative of Ardleyball, and I don't fancy watching more of that dross served up on a consistent basis for another season, whatever league we're in.

Ardley did at least have some excuse in the quality of players. Maynard in theory should have better ones.
