Nope I dislike him because of his overt racism, xenophobia and generally parroting of the ****e and lies pushed out by dubious internet and media sources. Once someone starts repeating lies as facts then it goes beyond a difference of opinion, its a demonstration of someone not engaged with reality. I have no need to waste my time on such people.

Well that should bring an end to most political debate on here then. One person expressing a view. Those who most vitriolically disagree with him not responding as they are ignoring it. At the very least there will be an end to the bemoaning of the tight wing press, as those who most object to such won't have any need to use their own bias to knock TTR down.

Happy days then maybe. Outwardly, peace may descend on the forum although the apparent status quo of opinion will not truly reflect people's real opinions.

I think we need to keep the thread going, important elections coming up. And i think it's ok for others to be involved if there is a 'spat'. It's a public forum so any posts are open for comments by others.

GP, I think we can all recall a number of occasions when you’ve taken the hump or felt wronged and stropped off saying you won’t return until someone has apologised or withdrawn a certain comment.

To his credit Sith didn’t do that. He simply asked for a) clarification and b) a retraction. Now without ratcheting up the whole thing all over again I’d like to ask you a simple question.

In post number 3017 of this thread do you think TTR suggested/implied that Sith wanted to ‘trash Jews’ and was even part of a larger group of people who wanted to behave in that way?

In a later post from Sith, and many others from rA,the suggestion/implication had become a statement of fact ('saying')

There is a difference in definition and in law between implication and statement. I asked for an apology from TTR 'in general' for his tone, NOT for what he said, simply because he didn?t say it. In more litigious situations than our own 'tin pot forum' (copyright rA), TTR could have sued Sith and me (if I'd so accused him) and probably won

rA's most recent post now categorises TTR's outburst, correctly, as a suggestion/implication. So now we agree.

The issue of apologising isn't worth pursuing, the precedent of not apologising has been set and endorsed on both sides here many times, it's just the way it is.

I will however apologise to Madeline Bell for my comment the other day as she is still extant

Sorry AF, but you do appear to have lost the plot on this one.

To suggest that Sith is somehow in the wrong is ludicrous and to try and deny that TTR suggested that Sith would want to ‘trash Jews’ similarly so.

Neither did I use the phrase ‘tin pot forum’ which you’ve made up. I described it as an ‘infinitely less significant little forum’ in comparison with some of today’s more major political ‘players’.

I think Sith is about the only person to have joined the forum under your ‘management’. He seems a very well balanced and moderate individual to me who is clearly upset at both the initial allegation and your handling of this whole issue. Time to sort it out and put things right.
