    Mansfield Town Post Match Thoughts

Bit late today as I was at NYS. Entertaining but what else did we learn?

Exciting and frantic last twenty minutes of the game.
Over this current season have we learnt anything about defending a one/two goal lead?

Overall....2 points dropped,at 3-1 up we were cruising, but we looked a bit disjointed, don`t think it works with Mpanzu and Sibley in midfield,we need someone with a bit more bite in there.
Wilkes was brilliant, has any one Rotherham player scored 2 better goals in one game ?
Give Mansfield some credit they didn`t give up,and the changes they made, changed the game, but we are very thin in depth, and it looks like Dawson might not play again this season,Matty has plenty to do for next season.

We sit back far too much when we have our noses in front ,as we were more than comfortable attacking ,. A few bad decisions, when we could have killed the game when we got , 3 on 2 and 4 on 3 , Holmes shot when he could have played nombe in . And wilks should have also passed to nombe , both chances could have put us ,4--1 up , but I thought a very enjoyable game ,. Wilks MOTM for me although we saw the good ,the bad and the ugly in him , in one afternoon, but I would love him to join us next season

Best to get it out of the way now start next season with more of squad. Our midfield not got that holding player as soon as we lose the ball up front opposition have our defence under pressure. Holmes lightweight Mpanzu Sibley don't effect the game. Wilkes almost won it on his own but we let them back in the game

Any league 1 defence would be under pressure with our midfield.

I am satisfied with this. We really have no more players and have just ran out of steam.

It?s a matter of clearing out injury prone players & some are not good enough, and others have just not performed.

The Evans appointment was a disaster but I am very confident that, under Matt the situation will improve greatly.
