I think there's some merit in this.
Obviously when you come back from watching a gutless performance it's easy to call for the manager's head. And I can't blame any fan for doing that, particularly when you consider how relatively badly we've played at home for much of this season.
However, if reports are the be believed our budget is actually about 12th for the division. Therefore we are overacheiving based on the playing budget alone. And new managers are always a gamble.
I think the fact that Luke Williams is currently without a club is also playing a part. There are some reports that he was interviewed for the MK Dons job and I like many fans would be happy to see him return to us and sad to see him go to a rival club at our level (which is likely to happen otherwise).
But if the question is whether i'd be happy to see SM sacked right now without someone like LW lined up it would be a definite no. And it's also possible that the loss of the Saunders brothers is playing a bigger part in our current situation than any of us realised and that replacing them adequately would really help.
