Autos was the aim so I?m guessing where around 8th to10th lowest with a hope of getting bang for our buck.
It was an article that came out a couple of weeks ago but I can?t find it now.
It wasn?t the budget, it was the current playing wages of league 2 after the Jan window.
    We were 12th.

We should probably take that “12th” with a pinch of salt, but the owners themselves have always stated that we will never have the biggest budget in the division because that’s not the business model.

However, this past year has been the first one in which player sales have potentially reached ?1 million (for Macca, Nemane and Crowley), so it will be interesting to see how this impacts next season’s playing budget. Then again, one-off off-field improvements like The Nest, sound system, etc, don’t come cheap, so there may be no discernible change next season.

That 12th thing was clearly nonsense. It had us below Morecambe, who are in financial meltdown and have been for some time.

You can kind of just tell a teams budget from the sort of players theyre signing. I dont think were right up there with the highest payers, but one of the more disappointing things of this season is we havent taken advantage of two of them, MK and Carlisle, having an absolute disaster. We signed Gordon and Tsaroulla despite them having offers from Crawley, Platt despite him having an offer from Bradford, and got Bass despite him having a great loan spell at Wimbledon and them wanting him. That tells you we pay competitive wages for the league.
