    O/T May Day

Thank you to all ancient labour activists for giving us this day of rest.

Bank Holidays are wonderful and we owe it to the ancient working class for fighting for many things we have taken for granted.

There are a few on here that hold those traditions and constantly fight for the workers in the UK.

Human rights, workers rights and freedom of protest/expression are all hard won.

It's a shame that so many are apathetic about them steadily being taken away.

It's too easy (and fatal) to think "this doesn't affect me...I'm alright Jack"

    Taken for granted these days.

Once they take them away they never give them back. I think that it was Good Friday that no one wired as well as Christmas Day but although Christmas Day is still taken Good Friday as a holiday is diluted

Both Christian celebrations and religious demographics have changed
