I agree, this is where we're at now.
Most everything except the ending has already been written about SM, talk about flogging a dead 'os to death, but it's because SM/the club hasn't settled the argument. SM's obviously talented beyond his experience, and yet there's definitely more to this squad than we've been able to consistently show. AND the division looks there for the taking for mere consistency. The fact that we're one of about 5 clubs ruing missed opportunities just tells us how fine the margins are.
Everything has been said at this point. The Jan tranny window looks great really, just not timely - so a tactical fail.
I do find it strange that we must have the smallest coaching dept in the league, and there was no quick replacement of our DoF, AND we must have the least experienced manager in all the leagues.
I'll leave it to the Bros they will have KPI's which will have to be met consistantly if not he or any other employees will be gone. One I presume will be the bad home from.
He doesn't do himself any favours being more concerned with clean sheets than winning match's
The one thing that might persuade the Bros beyond KPIs is if there’s a big drop in season ticket sales, which would be the clearest rejection of what fans are seeing on the pitch. It will be interesting to hear how sales have gone after the early bird window ends. Hopefully they’ve gone up, but that would be surprising if this forum is any guide.
One thing I've learnt over the years is to never take this forum as a guide to anythingno way will the Bro's sack anyone because some internet posters think they should & I will be surprised if ST sales are not up but absolutely amazed if there is a big drop next season. COYP
Seems utterly surreal we could be promoted tomorrow. If we do it then we will equal the record lowest points total for automatic promotion for a 46 game EFL season (3pts per win era) set by Southend in 1990 and equalled by Lincoln in 1998 (same year Allardyce won the 4th tier). Highly unlikely any non-league team has gone up with 75 or less pts after 46 games either, seeing that they now only usually have one auto place and I don't think they've had more than 2 in the past?
Lowest we've gone up with after 46 played was 80 in 1990/91 (same for 1972/73 if you convert that to 3 for a win).
Looks we will surpass the 5-6k matchday gates then some predicted if he was in post.
I 100% agree we need to be better at home but reflecting back to great home performances in the NL when teams totally ran out of steam after 60 mins and we ran over them is probably as miss guided as looking back at the days under Thordenson / Thompson etc where the football was gut wrenchingly awful.m, it?s not terrible but it needs to be a bit better.
