Observerpie's poll - Promotion or not. What's the point!

Fortunately, the 30 people who represent this 87% saying no, are only a fraction of the 5,000 views.

The mind set has to be positive from the fans. Any griping about what's gone before in the season is completely irrelevant.

My advice to all gloomsters is shut it until after the season is over.
My advice to you is not to read football message boards, because basically they're places where people ask questions and give opinions.

In the promotion poll thread I said I don't think we'll get promotion and we're not ready for League One yet, but that doesn't make me a 'gloomster'. I also acknowledged that we have significantly improved our position this season, but being realistic we're not at the stage where we're ready for the next step yet, similar to the way we have a couple of play-off failures before we finally became ready and got promoted from the National League. That's my realistic opinion and I wouldn't mind being wrong, but I'm not going to "shut it" just because hearing other views apparently gets to you.

If you're not a Gloomster, then my comments are not aimed at you. Simple as that.

So what exactly is your definition of a gloomster?

Gloomster It's a word used to describe someone who is habitually pessimistic or prone to dwelling on negative aspects of situations. The Gloomsters need to realise the only thing that matters is the score after two legs against Wimbledon. Why affect the clubs future success, by wallowing in past gloom that can't be changed. COYP

You're very naive if you believe what's posted on here affects the club's future. You don't seem to understand what is being said on here by the majority of posters, it's a forum for discussion and opinions, finding out what others think about situations around Notts. If you're unable to accept that we don't all agree on everything then maybe this board isn't the best place for you.

I accept that you and others don't agree with my opinion that now is no time for being gloomy.

I came across an interesting and apt quotation elsewhere today:

It is the folly of too many to mistake the echo of a London coffee-house
for the voice of the kingdom.

As I've said before, I didn't used to be a gloomster until my Dad took me down to Meadow Lane all those years ago. That's what trying to support Notts has done to me. Other clubs were available.

100% It all feels very Burchnall, some promise, some nice play, but every time its got to the nitty gritty - not quite the mentality to get over the line.

Need a midfield rebuild and probably a change of shape in summer as it seems we've been worked out now.
