Aberdeen's 2 games before they play us are Rangers and Celtic so I am not seeing them pull away before they play us. Its not really a big surprise losing to Celtic and Hibs. The frustrating thing is the manner of the losses more so our first half performance today which was an unforced error in team selection and formation. This season can still have a good conclusion. The spanner in the work is St Mirren.

For me 3-1 flattered Hibs. 2 horrific early goals put Hibs on easy street until half time but we were well the better team in the 2nd half and could have been a different story had Sevelj scored that easy header to make it 2-2.

Our weakest position today by far was Centre half, we were panicky as fk at times and it killed us 1st 45 mins.

Hopefully another clear out in the summer and it's clear to see that along with Gallagher - Van de Sande, Babunski, Fotheringham and the 3 january loan signings can all fk off.

I agree about 3-1 flattering Hibs. United were a different team in the 2nd half. Hibs whole season for me will hinge on the jamminess of the 6 points they got from us and Celtic in the space of 5 days with goals being chalked off. That Dalby goal being chalked off was well dodgy.

Gallagher also looks like someone who's been told he's not getting a new contract at the end of the season with 5 games to go and now doesn't give a monkeys so poor man management from Goodwin there. Why not give the other Sam a chance at CB? The boy's came back from a career ending injury and actually gives 2 hoots.

Why when we were trying to get an equaliser did the manager not bring on a natural goalscorer like Moult instead of the insipid Paton? Goodwin goes on about bad decisions and he's often the one making them.

Loaning Miller Thomson out to Falkirk was a mistake as he has the natural enthusiasm the current team lacks and at least is mobile.

We need a big clear out at the end of the season to get rid of the dead wood. If it was up to me there'd be about 6 players left. And will someone gie Trapa some porrage as the boy is so flimsy. He needs to fill out and toughen up.

When we have spells playing well and are top we don't really look like scoring or creating chances. Our success has been on defending as a team. Huge Sumner ahead, feels like that most summers now, when you have to make that many changes you are only one bad transfer window away from catastrophe.

If Gallagher hadn't started yesterday you can guarantee there would be a clamour for his inclusion. He has done decent for us this season, but as much as he has been good for us, the set up has been good for him too to hide his lack of mobility. You saw that for the second goal, so slow. First one was just a brain fart aberration. He has had a good run of form before the split, but he has had poor games where he has cost us too, county away 1-1, Hibs 3-2. Generally he has been decent but clearly has limitations.

Third goal was just as bad, not sure if it was docherty, but for some reason doesn't try to get goal side of Gayle. Almost as bad as the defender for dundee at the second Motherwell yesterday.

That starting formation where everything has to go through Strain or Ferry is so poor. They two are working their bollox of to chase the pacy hibs front men but are expected to also create everything. We have two big lumps up there and didn't try and go long more than maybe twice that whole first half. If he starts with our second half team then they usually fall away and there's nobody to bring on to change the game. ****e like Paton, Campbell and Fotheringham. Should have kept Miller Thomson also.. next season we need to sign some attacking quality and lots of it.

Alsl what happened with Holt this season should never ever happen again to Dundee United.

We look like a patched up side that doesn't really know what their identify or best team is anymore. Can't see us win another point this season if it's more of the same.

Did Holt essentially threaten not to play though? Hence the reason utd released the statement, not sure what they can do in those circumstances. Would have been manageable if Graham had remained got, but he has proven to be a bit injury prone this season unfortunately.

    Remaining games

Time to play the young 'un's to see what they have got.
Forget qualifying for Europe, take stock of what we've got, who we want to keep, and who we need for the next campaign.
If we don't do this, next season could be another battle against relegation.... the other sides have figured out how we play.

Agree, very strange suggestion from this Arab in France

Back to basics, win the battle, nick a win if possible, it's only worked 4 times against st mirren, I'm willing to bet it our kids have lost 4/4 against them
