Thing is - treat a player like that and the player will treat the club the same way back. I mean, you dont see much badge kissing at Chelsea these days, do you?
If Trafford wants to go to Chelsea instead of us then Ill hold the door open for him.
They'll be trying to sign everyone we are, they don't scout. Their recruitment since the take over is Agent based. They ask Sports agents to come in with their portfolio of players, like a catalogue, go through them, select certain players and make offers.
Who's Traffords agency? I bet they've got offers out to 4-5 goal keepers in each position 'take-it-or-leave-it'.
Nothing makes a player feel more special than being a batch order from a wholesaler.

Exactly mate. All the Cobham academy, Chelsea lads, Fat Frank, JT et al, they've all gone, the next gen have all but been sold off. There is no identity to Chelsea anymore. Eastenders pervert Rory Jennings has whined on and on about the core of the club being sold out and the heart of the club being ripped out.
What do they stand for? Basically they've been converted from a Russian Oligarch's play thing to a US style athletic entertainment franchise.
The players are not joining because of the heritage or history, they're there for the paycheque only. Likewise the red filth. Look at the amount of top level talent who have gone else where rather than signing for them in the last 5 yrs or so. Leaving them to over pay for mediocre talent with potential or has-beens like Casemiro. When they signed him I was delighted. I knew it was going to be a disaster. Now on ?325,000 / week he's impossible to sell. He's contracted until 2026. Why would he leave and get paid less?
We know that the MSM muppets are all 'old school, cartel clowns', they all still speak in terms of an era now defunct. They status of the club no longer means anything. This generation of players want to know that the Manager/Coach is dynamic and that they are going to develop under his leadership.
We're seeing that the whole league dynamic has shifted and will continue to move away from the cartel controls.
A young player can get an excellent salary at Brighton, Bournemouth or Brentford. Play for excellent tactically smart managers and develop technically.
Also, seeing the hot talent of Europe like Rasmus H?jlund flop and cave under the pressure at the filth. Darwin Nunes fail to live up to his potential at Liverpool and the army of failure at Chelsea must put off so many of Europe's top young talent.
Playing for Villa or Forest means a lot less expectation than having the ungrateful, entitled scum that fills the terraces like rats in the skip or the swamp.
The game has changed. Legacy clubs no longer hold the same covetous status. Players know they can win things at other clubs. The only thing the cartel can offer is huge salaries. That comes with it's own pressure as fans will expect results and when they flop the salary is used to beat the player as a complete waste of money.
Players have big Egos. They also have advisers and agents who should be giving them good advice. Some do some don't. The good ones will recommend a move to a club like Newcastle to work with a manager Eddie Howe, who, is rock solid in his position and will be at the club for many, many years.
The money grabbers will always push for their players to go to Chelsea & the filth as they themselves as agents get a bigger payday from the bigger contract offered.
The dirty side of the game is not in the dark anymore, it's shamelessly out in the open and yet, nothing is being done about it. Rather, the likes of City are facing witch hunts and we're seeing the 'tyranny of the majority' do everything in their power to derail our progression.
I think Tonali needs an Italian mate. Been reading a bit about CB Alessandro Buongiorno of Napoli whose agent is also Tonalis. Age and profile as an intetnational is good and was a key player for them.. Anyone heard anything about him? Think he is left footed though.
...valued at 45 mill Euro and contracted till 2029.
Aye, he's had a cracking season made a decent amount of appearances for the Azzurri too. According to reports, our top summer target is Mr Guehi for around ?45m which would put pay to any further big ticket defensive items sadly.
I'm more than happy for Guehi to join NUFC as I don't believe it was his fault he didn't sign last summer. We as fans are far too emotional and take the transfer business personally. When it's by definition business, no sentiment involved. This summer Parish has no bargaining chips left. Marc's got 1 year left on his contract and despite being a pro and not making trouble at palace, it was clear early season that the was unsettled 'head turned' (although I loath that phrase). He's 24/25 still a full England international with bags of talent and potential to improve.
Add that to the fact we've got Tino & Hall we'll have 3 of Englands back 4 for the next 3 major tournaments + should we sign Trafford, how good would that be for Newcastle and England to have the GK and 3 of the back 4 playing together week in week out! Awesome for reputation of NUFC and also for cohesion.
Throw in a fully fit Sven Botman and we've got one hell of a defensive unit for next season. Schar & Burn will not make it easy for those two and be pushing standards and providing excellent levels of cover when replaced.
I think it woukd do no harm to size up a couple of alternatives should Palace play the cnt with the fee. 30-40 million for a young italian international defender seems a bargain to me - specially with the Tonali connection. I hate to say it but Guehi does not set my pulse racing last year or now as a signing....unless of course EH is sold on him. I think theres better out there.
I totally agree Sclox. I would be astonished if Mitchell, Howe and the team haven't discussed in detail the A,B,C&D options for each position.
Mitchell is said to be disappointed with Parish on a personal level. They had previously done business together and have a very good working relationship. Away from football Mitchell appears to have good personal relationships with a wide range of owners, Super agents (Bondesque cave dwelling villains) and board members of clubs across the Football world built up during his career.
They won't be playing the waiting game again and the price will not keep going up and up. However, there has to be some buy in from the player himself this summer. 1 year left of his contract, he's been a great pro for Palace and not acted out. This summer timing is much better. Palace are a selling club, they don't have leverage of a 2 year deal, they player no doubt wants to play UCL football.
Does the signing of Guehi get excited? Not really. CBs never generally do. We had a saga with Botman, I was delighted when he joined, solid pro, huge growth potential. Guehi is the same. I get more excited for players further up the field. The word I'm hearing is that Marc is Eddie's No.1 pick. He likes everything about him, attitude, ability, determination to improve as a player and person.
I guess it's a case of us needing English players for the quotas. Dean Huijsen would be my preferred signing however that's gonna be dog fight as everyone is after him. ?50m is a great price for the young Spaniard, however, Guehi for ?40 with 4 yrs more experience & English is a steal in the current market.
We also want players who are 100% committed to NUFC, getting into a Wage-bidding-war for Dean Huijsen is not good for anyone. We don't want to sign mercenaries or turn good people/players into money chasers who get disgruntled.
