Word from Spain on Egan Riley?

He is going to Chelsea owned Strasbourg by all accounts and will not be staying at Turf Moor. We will get a small fee because we have helped to develop him, but he will leave a hole to fill. Any news on Beyer?

    Time will tell.
I cant see him moving from the Premier league to a farmers league, it would be a backwards move on all fronts

You can forget about your love child, who hasn't kicked a ball in years and will be miles off the Premier league

He?s a decent player but I think in truth his partner in crime has contributed and enhanced his stock.

In truth if he goes that?s fine imo he?ll get found out and he?s on a promise from Chelsea via Strasbourg ( Chelsea are obviously unconvinced at this stage ) .

I?ll get chastised for saying but he ball watches a bit for a centre back and is reactive and gets caught we don?t see it that much because esteve is such a brilliant positioner and reader of the game that he sweeps up a lot for Riley.

I wish him well because we didn?t contract him and that?s our fault money wise now , however no one saw him developing like he has i don?t think - I?m still not convinced that?s good enough tbh.

If I were him I?d have signed a shorter deal at Burnley test myself against the best and then see where I was in 12-18 mtrs time.

I guess 30k a week isn?t enough for him at his tender age

Onwards and upwards as they say - if we retain Esteve a decent centre back will be fine with him.

He cannot head a ball for $hit and ball watches too much for me. Like you say army88 Esteve covers for him far too much in my opinion. Get Beyer rocking and we will have the perfect pairing.

Good on the lad.He was the weaker of our centre backs but he was a good long ball passer.Esteve is the one we need to keep.I think Humphries is a centre back originally.Maybe he can step in for Egan Riley.

Obviously don't want him to go. Although slow and lacks height, he was good with the ball. He really didn't come up against any quality in the championship. I would expect him to be found out for his defencive frailities.

Esteve is the man we must keep has he is premier league quality. We should be looking at getting a tall, strong dominant CH who has premier league experience, and send CJER on his way with our best wishes

Smacks of Chelsea involvement as a route to test him a bit more then get him cheap next year.

Got to be in the market for good centre half now.

Another problem we have is that we only scored 1 goal from a corner and that was by O'Shea last August.
Egan-Riley doesn't bring goals to the table, this needs addressing if we are to have any chance of survival

I really am not that fussed one road or t' other. His departure would free up a wage for a tall dominant ariel ball winning CH who has the ability of weighing in with 5 or 6 goals from set pieces

Egan-Riley for me can be filed in the short arse category. We need lads 6'4" plus playing CH and CF who are strong and powerful in the air

Set pieces are so critical in the Premier league. I think Arsenal have scored over 25 goals this season from headers in the box via set pieces

Obviously CJER feels this is is a great move for him. I wish him all the best if and when he goes.
