That's the only reason I can join this thread.

My hope is massive, my expectation is minimal.

If they totally ran all over us and beat us up the first leg I?d be on the floor with my optimism, but they didn?t.
If Didzy is out it?s a massive ask as we are going to have to pick a striker that hasn?t scored for us this season, if he plays there?s no reason we can?t give them a good game.

It?s a football match between 2 teams both not in particular good form, anything could happen.

Gloomsters, resist the temptation, post on another thread.

    COYP's
    Of course it's possible.

It's a fact that there have been many performances this season that have left a lot to be desired, but there have been some good games under Maynard and many of them have been away from home, so there's no point writing us off. It looks like some players who haven't had much action in recent times will get a run on Saturday, so it could be one of those days where an unusual-looking side catches the opponent off guard. We might find the right formula almost by accident.

By the same token, there's no point starting a thread on a message board like this and saying the alternative view can't be heard. Those who are not so optimistic can point to a fair body of evidence to justify their relative pessimism, and if the manager, player and club want those doubts to be expressed less frequently, they need to address the shortcomings we've seen this season over the summer.

I don't know if this counts as a 'glass-half-full' or 'glass-half-empty' view, but I won't be as devastated as I normally might if we don't end up being successful in the play-offs this season. My heart of course wants promotion, but my head tells me we're genuinely not ready yet and that we probably need to keep building until we're the proper finished article, bashing our heads against the top of this league, much like we eventually were in the National League.

Anyhow, I've bought my season ticket for 2025/26, so what will be will be...

Of course we can do it !!!
It's 90 minutes of football with two teams each having eleven players per side, playing for a Wembley date a highlight for any footballer especially at this level plus both teams have shown similar form for the majority of the season so "COYP"
