Holidays. Who is off and where.

Most years this topic is posted but has not been so far for 2025.

Whether it is close to home or the other side of the world who is going where?

Off to Malaga again this May and then likely Turkey later though not booked. Nothing else booked yet. I fancy doing a UK road trip taking in the Republic of Ireland however, I think I will be out voted on that.

Not sure what to make of some of the "protests" at so called holiday hotspots (especialyin Spain) They have a bit of sympathy from me but I fear they may be killing the golden goose etc if they take things too far. Also hearing of horrendous price increases being floated in Turkey - I think now gone are the days of "cheap" Mediteranean sun - I'm sticking to Wales this year

There are horrendous prices in this country now; I have been in Wells-Next-The-Sea today and the car parking charges are outrageous, blue badge holders have to pay, too, which for that town in particular, is a real rip off. Park in a town centre car park, pay the exorbitant charge, then go to the beach car park, which for people with limited mobility, is much too far to walk, and then you have to pay the charge again. F**k ‘em, won’t be going there again.

Oh dear, Wells-Next-The-Sea in a couple of weeks and Florida (not my choice) end of August.

That reads like you think the Republic of Ireland is part of the United Kingdom..... please tell me you know that it isn't 😃 😀 😄.

As for ourselves the lad's off to Barcelona for a few days and then he'll be heading for Kavos a few weeks later, the wife and myself will most likely be staying at home where we'll be just as miserable in each other's company as we would in foreign climes but for no further outlay 😆 .

Barcelona a great city and off there again next week. Then off on a tour of California in July taking in San Diego, LA and San Fran.

Seville is a beautiful city too and so much nicer than Malaga where I spent many years. Take the Mrs to Seville Dan and cruise down the river and finish off in Triana where you can treat her in one of the many restaurants!

As a regular visitor to Dublin and the ROI for rugby and in general, yes I can confirm 68, I am aware it is not part of the UK.

Nothing wrong with a stay at home holiday but try to cheer up . We also do a stay home one every so often. Your son is lucky lad Barcelona is indeed a fantastic city as is Saville. We have been to both many times. Although not a particularly religious person the cathedrals in both are amazing.

There is a reason we choose the area of Malaga, I will not go into that on here to deeply, other than to say it is for the benefit of those less fortunate than ourselves. Annually the business assists a family in a charitable way to a trip to that area. We have a base there and have contacts, therefore it is very easy to arrange annually. We do normally go as a family but this year it will be just me and the good lady as our two young ones are unable to join us due to educational reasons.

Anyway, whoever you are and wherever you go, just enjoy it.

Only way my lad's visiting a cathedral in Barcelona is if there's a lap dancing bar of said name. The degenerate. Can't look in a mirror and say I'm surprised in fairness, poor lamb never had a chance when I come to think about it 😆.
