I've read somewhere that Everton are going to keep the stadium, at least for the time being. This is remarkable. Old stadia are usually demolished ASAP to cash in on sale and "development" to the inevitable bland & soulless retail park.

Yes it was mentioned yesterday that they're planning to save it and use it as their women's team's home.

I'm not sure how the economics will stack up, but it's a great boost for the women's game that Everton Ladies will have such a prestigious stadium as their home. Fair play for paying their female team such respect.
