Knowing a bit more than most regarding the happenings when Ihiekwe left I would say that there has been some making up by Ihiekwe if this deal goes through.
The lack of honesty at the end would have hurt Warne!
Correct Frog re Ihiekwe. When you shake a mans hand on the proviso he gets you the deal you want and he does, only to renege on that handshake for more money elsewhere, then you are lower than low. I don't want lying decietful scum like him playing for my club ever again.
He didn't promise himself to a club if the deal he sought could be delivered, big difference there pal and you know it. The truth about Warne and we all know it but some won't grasp it is, Stewart wants a silk purse from a sows ear every season, Warne knew he couldn't operate in the Championship against other clubs if the money wasn't right and simply got fed up of it all so chanced himself at another club and duly got THEM promoted.
Grist, Derby weren't ready for him at the start of the season so we kicked off. Then along came Derby with a far better chance of gaining promotion than us and he left us in 8th position, an excellent start don't you think? He missed out the first time with Derby but secured it the second time of asking, yet another promotion for him.
I feel you think Warne could have sustained Championship status for us but look what happened when the new boss came to town. Lack of expenditure will always be a major restraint for RUFC until extra backers get onboard which will never happen while Stewart is in charge and we know why. Don't blame Warne for what he did, he rode the train with us, got us 3 promotions and a Wembley final win.
