A disappointing result and end to the season .
It was a great privilege to be amongst the (announced ) 902 Notts fans who gave the players excellent vocal support throughout the 90 plus minutes.
The vocal motovation is always more apparent at away games .If only it was like that at ML !
Enjoy the close season break everyone.

That number can't be correct. Honestly, from my location I thought 3,000. A relative who tried to buy tickets said Notts tickets sold out?

74% possession and one shot on target all game told a sorry story of how we ended up finishing the season in a situation where for all our possession we were completely toothless. Added to that we were playing against the best defence in League Two that had only conceded 35 goals all season and Owen Goodman had kept the most clean sheets the final outcome had an air of the inevitable about it. Of course there was the hope.

When you lose the two 2nd most prolific goal scorers in the league who had scored 38 goals between them it was always going to be a tough ask and it gave Wimbledon the psychological advantage. However we had both Didzy and Jatta on the pitch in the first leg and had six shots on target and still didn't score from either. That's where we lost the game at home. You've got to be taking those chances otherwise it can cost you which it ultimately did.

In the end we were so close yet so far and the summer recruitment will be key if we want to do a Doncaster and try and take the positives of this season to strengthen so we can get automatic promotion next season.

Now the fact is, we've been poor for weeks and essentially limped into the playoffs. For about 6 weeks I've felt our performances seem more like a team seeing out a season with nothing to play for, rather than one tha could have gained automatic promotion. SM was clearly satisfied with a playoff spot which boggles the mind when you consider his cautious approach.

Wonderful away support as usual and there was definitely an air of defiance in the post game singing. I felt it was more about our club than the players and management, as we will be there no matter what. You are right in wishing ML was more vocal but even on Saturday some were finding social media more important than cheering on The Magpies. A happy and healthy close season to you and all on this forum.COYP

The second leg was almost the perfect summation of our troubles in 2025. Wimbledon have proven to the hardest team to score against and by some distance in the whole division. That doesn?t suit us or anybody. They are big strong organised, and can bully that doesn?t suit us. They were an awful match up. We probably would have lost to any of the other play off sides but I am confident we would have scored against the other two.

Take away the 36 goals with McGoldrick and Jatta out of the side and nobody should be surprised we didn?t score. It was all so predictable. Expectations for me were so low I was hardly even upset especially after seeing the lineup and the carbon copy approach with inferior players. What did Maynard expect to happen?

Oh and yes special mention the away support were signing loud and proud throughout. I looked over to my left and found myself watching them and not the game with real pride during that second half
