I?d have kept Austin, won't be on huge wages and be more ruthless in trying to offload a few of the contracted players, could well be the plan anyway.

I think it's fair. I'd rather see all those players leave to get McGoldrick for another year. Austin proved to be too lightweight for the league and I doubt now that he's been first choice for a bit, Whittaker won't want to be second fiddle for when we sign a better attacking midfielder.

I count 3 out of 19, but that'll be in the eye of the beholder. For me it's Edwards, Morias, Robertson

Have to say that the dry rot has set in with a few others and they're well on track to be next summer's dead wood! Up to them to turn it around

I think I speak for everyone on here when I say thank god we've let Whittaker go. Wouldn't have minded Austin staying but glad all the others have gone and hopefully a few of the dead wood can go as well.

It's *interesting* there's no quotes from Maynard up on the official site about the retained list. Even as a head coach rather than a manager, you'd normally expect to see something from him about the players moving on if Maynard was staying.
