Maynard is similar to Burchnall (Fullarton was another) - too mindful of what old blokes in the Pavis or NCM think. Slag off players you think you can get away with or what that audience wants to hear like Eli Sam, waste a year playing Kelly-Evans over Nemane, pick Austin over Jarvis, talk a lot about mistakes or go more defensive.

I want to go back to someone like Williams telling fans they're wrong about short corners and they better get used to it. Someone with the courage to do it his way.
In Burchnall's defence, Nemane came to us injured with a broken leg if I recall correctly? Certainly a big injury that he was getting over so picking Kelly-Evans wasn't as insane as it first appears
