Patterson is one of the most promising loan players I have seen at Notts in a long time...such a great keeper at such a young age... he will make it big

And yours Pedro. I used to sit on top of the concrete dugout and watch young Pedro on the right with Steve Carter attacking what is now the Family Stand. Coincidentally with this latest post being about Pato, did Pedro make his debut against the Black Cats?

Loved every single minute of seeing the unwashed throw tantrums and cry today.

Interesting to see that three goalies who played on loan at successful L2 sides this season are in the England U-21 squad for the Euros: Owen Goodman (Wimbledon, on loan from Crystal Palace), Teddy Sharman-Lowe (Doncaster, on loan from Chelsea) and Tommy Simkin (Walsall, on loan from Stoke). If we were to sell Alex Bass this summer - and I hope we don’t - a good young keeper on loan may be the way to go.

My love affair with pedro began when he was moved to a sweeping centre back..where he excelled! Not sure of his first game one for the statisticians amongst us .!!

According to the club honorary statistician, Mick Chappell , Pedro indeed made his Notts debut at Roker Park in a 3-0 defeat to a Sunderland side managed by Bob Stokoe. The date was 17th November 1974 and Dave Watson was in the home side.

Interesting posts on The Saddlers Forum as to why they didn't win promotion
The criticisms of Sadler generally mirror the criticisms of Maynard particularly in game plan , team and bench selections , lack of strikers following the January transfer window etc etc.

Walsall was only that far ahead because they got lucky with injuries and didn't suffer a drop until Lowe got recalled. They aren't that good a side, they just got very lucky early on in the season. They very much mirrored our season under Nolan where we had a great start to the season then got all the bumps on the second half of the season

Had Weakling not done Jodi with that career threatening tackle Notts may well have had a similar points lead before further injuries and illness struck.
Unfortunately for us they took 6 points off Notts scoring twice as many goals as Notts in the process.
Somewhat derailed by Lowe being recalled by Stoke but Walsall fans point out that the early season direct attacking style was replaced by tippy tappy , negative keep ball.

Now where have we seen that ?
Rather mirrors our season doesn't it ?
If your opinions are correct , does that make Maynard a better boss than Sadler by virtue that Sadler didn't have so many injured players ?
