Yes speculation is normal. But we are not just talking about Dave down the pub here. We are talking about the hot favourite to be the next PM. He should be asked at every opportunity about why he chose to disseminate misinformation from such dubious sources about such a sensitive matter. And whether someone who does that is fit to hold any sort of political office.

Aside from him all the usual suspects on the far right were falling over themselves yesterday to cause trouble over the Liverpool incident even in the short time before the police said what the background of the suspect was. As you say the police cant win.

Surely Nigel is the future. He's said he'll raise the tax threshold to 20K, he'll reintroduce the winter fuel payments, and he'll introduce more generous tax breaks for married people and scrap the two-child benefit limit. What could possibly go wrong?

1p on income tax would probably cover it or, we could just stop paying for migrants to stay in hotels and buying them phones and driving lessons and having doctors on tap to pay for it which is what I think you're driving at?

I think it's plauisble. Do you think the kind of people who start malicious rumours in these cases would show self restraint because they might be contradicted online by people who saw his face?

I doubt very much Farage will increase income tax. All of the people in his orbit and who he admires reduce taxes a tiny bit for normal people and a huge amount for very wealthy people. Something like a 15% flat tax regardless of income maybe with an increase in minimum threshold.

If not using a pseudonym then probably yes.

There are two kinds of people who do this, those who are careless and do stuff as a knee jerk reaction (Lucy Connolly) and those who genuinely, want to cause mischief, the latter you will never be stopped.

I just heard a 'stat' that we are currently taxed at the highest level since the end of the WWII. Something has to give in order to pay for the services required by the burgeoning population, many of whom not only pay no taxes but are a direct drain, on the public purse.

One obvious saving and a future government has to be impervious to any criticism that flows from it, would be to put migrants in camps like they are in many other places, here in Cyprus they are. Illegal migrants and their supporters, have to be stopped from calling the tune on this, it's costing 15 billion per year. Genuine asylum seekers would be grateful of any kind of protection, many of them live in makeshift camps anyway on the coast in France until they can cross as they don't want to enter the asylum system there.
