This story is getting a lot of traction. Seems that she is smashing it and winning fairly easily.

I don't have an issue with protests but both her and her mum have been subject to a lot of vitriol and abuse, I don't agree with that, it's not them they should be targeting it should be those who allow it imo.
Yes quite right and all those protesting pushing the agenda, treating this individual like some sort of martyr.

Having seen the build of the athlete, you can clearly see the advantage. He even looks like a boy facially. Mediocre boys' competitor, to dominating girls of the same age. Wrong wrong wrong.

This was at what might best be described as inter township U13 level. There didn’t appear to be an issue and no disrespect or outrage was shown whatsoever.
I suppose, especially at this age level, soft ball isn’t the most physical of sports although, for those who may not know, the ball is anything but soft and as it becomes more physically competitive I imagine more questions may be asked of the appropriateness of this individual continuing to play in a female league.
Heartening to see such tolerance being shown in the U.S. however, again at this level, there was no use of changing facilities and I’m guessing that as adolescence kicks in there is likely to be a different attitude.

Perhaps the most surprising aspect is that transitioning a such a young age should have been sanctioned in the conservative old USA. Too young for a tattoo but old enough to ‘change gender’ seems odd to me.
If true, that?s all very ?jolly hockey sticks? but the current alternative in many cases is for the other participants to ?grin and bear it? or a) be excluded from competing or b) be subject to direct or online abuse. The hate goes both ways. I won?t offer anecdotes or links to factual examples for obvious reasons but there are plenty of current non-uk examples relating to netball, fencing, softball and other sports where young transgender males are using their physical advantages to dominate. Looks like UK are ahead of the game on this in many sports

Lol…I bet that’s the first time U.S. softball has been referred to as all ‘very jolly hockey sticks’. That’s one thing it isn’t!

Not sure why you keep suggesting you ‘won’t offer anecdotes or links to factual examples for obvious reasons’?

The reference wasn?t regarding the sporting event it was about your description of the impact, or lack of, of it

I keep suggesting I won?t offer anecdotes or links because of the obvious reasons that you and a number of others here, tactically i believe, try to discredit them or choose to ignore them if they don?t suit your agenda. Your softball story sounds suspiciously like one from the USA recently which has got a lot of traction in the media, but unlike you when I offer an anecdote I chose at the time to just let the anecdote run and take it at face value. There have been some anecdotes, and I don?t include yours here, that have been offered in support of your POV and which you?ve either lapped up or not discredited which have been pure urban myths, and to be honest I?ve been too polite to call them out, it?s up to folk to draw their own conclusions.

The inclusion of softball is intriguing. I used to play league softball when working on other side of pond and all trams were mixed. Minimum 2 women, maximum 8 men. So the only issue would have been (TG issues weren't in the public domain) whether a TG athlete counted as one of the 2 mandated women, not whether they could play on the team.

Firstly, I don’t think you’re particularly polite - you’ve actually described yourself as being good at getting under people’s skin - and I know I don’t try to discredit anecdotes just because they don’t ‘suit my agenda’.

Fact is your anecdotes SOMETIMES don’t stand scrutiny, eg your out of date passport one when you got the country wrong and the passport wasn’t out of date at all and your village flagpole hijackings one when what started out as group pressure turned out, if I remember correctly, to be just one person.
Add to that your description of me as pro Muslim and anti Christian - complete nonsense - and your inability to recognise what everyone else could when TTR falsely accused Sith of being anti Jewish and you’ll maybe recognise why I SOMETIMES take what you say with a pinch of salt.

Folk can draw whatever conclusions they like about my particular softball anecdote. I know it’s true and there was no point to prove. It was just a strange coincidence that my first first hand experience of ‘trans’ involvement in an otherwise all female sport should come about as we were discussing it and I found it interesting that the whole process should have been allowed at such an early age. I don’tknow if that would be the case in the UK and before you try and make something out of that comment it means exactly what it says, ‘I don’t know’ and offer no judgement.

I believe that at its highest level (College and Olympics) Softball is an all female sport, GP. At a more ‘social’ level it is apparently often played as a mixed sport but the example I was describing was an otherwise entirely female U13 league.

If its all female, then who or why can a boy play among them?

Well spotted TTR. Good to see you’re keeping up.
