Your comments about youth football are correct that's not where the gems are to be found.

The gems are in the non league, early twenties some are late developers, some are players who did not thrive in the Academy systems, some who have grown in physique trust me they are there.

I grew up with scouting and the non league game I was brought up by my Uncle he was a well known scout for Celtic and Forest and we went everywhere watching games and in those days there were loads of scouts at games today in the non league there are hardly any doing the hard yards. It's all youth football focused for scouts. Beyond that it's video analysis.
