Also very keen on the new HC and coaching team being announced however it does not have as negative an impact as it would under the old Manager system. Analysis and recruitment is still onoing under the current system and there is not much point paying for coaching staff before the players return.

As I and I'm sure others have stated before, Maynard's sacking wasn't a bolt out of the blue. The brothers will have known for several weeks that this was going to happen and a replacement or at least a shortlist, should have been well developed in plenty of time and it makes me wonder if first choice people are turning us down?

    Hope I'm wrong of course.

Not necessarily a bad thing if that's the case. They'll never admit it, but I'm pretty sure Luke Williams was well down the list summer 2022, definitely not first choice, and they ended up having to take on somebody who had something more about them than just doing everything on script.

I’m not worried. I feel as a club we are in a very good position with a clear identity, a clear philosophy and financial stability (at least that’s what all the signs point towards).
I’m biased, as many of us are, but I think we are an attractive proposition, especially for the modern day head coach. I know some want the good old fashioned manager like a Fergie… reality is we will end up with someone who is up with the times, happy to coach and deal with the players without the hassle of dealing with day to day running of the club.

As far as I know we haven't been talking to established managers so it's unlikely that people are turning us down
I think we need to hear what the restructuring of the football dept. actually entails

Not sure if they would have sacked him had we gone up. That said they will more than likely have an ongoing list of managers they are monitoring even when managers are in the job. If their being ambitious with the appointment there?s every chance some have turned us down or their stalling as there?s bigger jobs available, that?s football. One thing I?m pretty sure of is they won?t be dragging their feet with the process and also they won?t rush it, this is a big appointment.

Why are people so hesitant to accept the way the Bros are running the club is here to stay? In 6 years we?ve had 5 play-off campaigns including a promotion. The squad has remained consistent with the type of players we?re signing, to play the way the club wants to going forward. Each year will be an evolution of the last, with a little more quality added each time, along with a HC who can implement that way of playing.

Yet all I keep seeing is ?need an experienced manager?, ?needs to control recruitment?. Didn?t that way lead us into the National League eventually, with bloated squads of 3 or 4 different managers players, that the next manager through the door didn?t want?

I get the new setup isn?t the old fashioned way everyone is used to, but it?s more than refreshing for me, to see that a plan is in place, the players and HC all follow a playing style, gates are considerably up, post the Hardy/Trew era and before. Moneys being invested in the club, players being bought in for a fee, players are leaving for a fee in excess of what we bought them for. Let?s keep the momentum going!

Basically ?Impatience? many fans want it straight away and that?s understandable emotionally.

Building foundations infrastructure wise is brilliant and I?m totally behind the DOF with the HC, ultimately on average a manager lasts just over a year, so why would to put them in charge of your money and also how team plays when ultimately it all gets ripped up at a huge cost and usually effects performance.

We had a prime example before with Hardy with not even changing the manager. He just instantly wanted passing expansive football, which meant bringing in all new players and one big mistake having a manager that had never coached that way before. The upshot we had nearly 40 players on the payroll at one time or another, he blew all his cash and we got relegated, the clubs foundations were built on sand.

As far as I can tell, the odds of the "favourites" for the job haven't moved at all in the last two days. Betting on Williams and Alves is still suspended, but you'd imagine it's been too long now for that to mean anything.

Not sure what to make about the lack of movement other than nobody has a clue, and people have stopped speculating.
