This is a subject raised before. Nevertheless I am a bit saddened, if that is the right word, by what I have heard this morning. I have always loved The Who but does Roger Daltrey merit a knighthood? Same with David Beckham whose footballing talents were admirable. God only knows what other awards have been given. I think the ?honour? of receiving an award has really been adversely affected.

Beckham was a half decent footballer in his day but that is about all, so does he deserve a Knighthood? My answer initially is no. But then I remember that Jimmy Saville and Lenny Henry got one so what the hell, why not.
