Agreed. Sell your better players for big profits you are likely to be initially worse off on the pitch.
When our recruitment was far worse but the decisions were primarily made by the then manager, did you get more of less frustrated, annoyed and upset than under the current regime and approach?
That depends who the manager is as no system is flawless.
I think using data is the right way forward i've never said otherwise.
My concerns are 1.Why are we gambling on injured players when every penny counts at L2 level.
2.The Head Coach gets the flak for bad results fine thats the game BUT why are the recruiters bullet proof in that regard afterall they identified the players & signed them.
Now part 2 imo will have an impact on which person we get to coach/manage the team.
You always need good players whatever level you operate at but most importantly the manager is the key to success....now do we give ourselves the best options to get best ?
Your problem it seems to me anyway, is that we sold him. If we hadn't sold him we wouldnt have needed a replacement. The replacement was a judgement call that didnt pay off. However we protected ourself financially with a short term contract! The real, more considered replacement will now be introduced during the pre season window. I'm afraid that's part of football.
Which manager? There are far too many to list (therein lies a big problem of our past) probably wiser to ask were you more frustrated, annoyed and upset when owned by anybody after Paris and before the Reedtz? I believe during that extended period all the appointed managers had a say in the recruitment, which on the whole was dire as I am sure you will recall.
You can easily argue either way, some fans will belief the players (recruitment) is more important than the manager, others will agree and say the manager is more important.
Selling a player who wanted to leave and had six months to go is and always will be smart business at our level.
We knew in the summer he wanted to go and imo 4 months is enough time to track a replacement who is ready for league football.
If you lose a key player which he was you need to replace him properly as results are likely to slip.
We hope we have a replacement but we might not play the same system this season who knows.
