See Dunfermline, Falkirk and Killie etc all got comfortably more fans in today
So after a shaky start the Dees got a credible 3rd place finish in the group behind the crack outfits of Alloa and Airdrie.
so happy we aren't playing in that sh1tty cup! That has to be our target every season..getting on a plane and not heading to play Strathspey Thistle. I would take struggling against a bunch of Luxembourgs best painters and decorators any day of the week.
They are talking about Rangers, Hibs and us all looking poor or average in Europe, possibly but the hard neck as if they've had the capability of winning a game in Europe in the last twenty years
Some United fans reckon they are favs for relegation after those two performances. The Eastfootball site.
East football isn't exactly a reliable barometer for all things United. Some absolute zoomers on there. A more balanced view on P&B TeK and here.
We didn't play well in either leg but it's a brand new team and will need time to gel. The general opinion is that 343 isn't helping as well.
4th place will be extremely difficult to repeat, the predictions I'm seeing range from 6th to 9th.
The Funsters reckon they're nailed on for the drop.
It's a good game for Dundee to get Hibs after extra time and sickness of losing that match in that manner, though Hibs probably a stick on for top 6 with the level of those first two matches.
We have been toothless in these first two matches, the wingers have offered nothing, sapsford I actually think has some decent skill, but doesn't have the physicality to lead the front three. Stirton is direct and has some physicality, watters looked looked similar to what we already have from that cameo. Maybe better a front two of sapsford and stirton, or stirton in the middle of a three and sapsford one of the wide of the three. We are so indirect and ineffective going forward in the past two and lightweight up front.
Thought the defence had a few shakey moments too last night first half, they all have a tendency to dive in with all or nothing tackles which could be costly, esselink maybe not the paciest if exposed. Will get a better test Sunday of our defence. The missed cross from the keeper first half was a bit alarming, he was so far off it.
Lucky their shooting was woeful, they kept getting space on the edge of our box to get crosses and shots away, we need to close that space down quicker.
Guess at this stage of rebuild, this early in season, just getting through is an achievement, we'd have been out against any decent opposition, in all likelihood Gona get a pumping from rapid, but it's more European football non the less.
Sure Goodwin will be looking to fix some those issues with new bodies before the window shuts.
