Upset? Triggered? Nah I'm not that bothered by what you post, sure I will (if I can be arsed) call out your posts where I think they are xenophobic, racist, inaccurate or as you often do, base your argument on anecdotal evidence which clearly doesn't stand up to in depth scrutiny, or ask you to explain why you think certain ways (generally not getting an answer).
But its not because I'm upset, more a pushback in the hope you might reconsider certain views. I realised a long time ago that no amount of actual evidence will actually change people's views, that Farage and Trump supporters don't see the contradictions in what these two grifters say and what they do, whilst enriching themselves shows that.
You have certain view point and mind set, expressed in more subtle ways than TTR does, but essentially similar. Its a shame really, but it doesn't bother me and I don't waste my time worrying about it.
No, in broad terms it was 'entertainment'. Lots of down time and occasionally lots of booze (by others) over the 16 years it existed brought out lots of opinions, not just from Es*** Man, its been a UK-wide thing. Unlike here, I don't share my political/worldview opinions or observations, just listen, and its been an interesting ride soaking up the deeply held views of people who are/were 'not like me' but have as much right to an opinion (and vote) as any. I closed the enterprise because I valued the time released by doing it more than the income it generated, not sure if I'll miss the folk I met along the way, in most cases probably not!
All in the nuance, do people have a "right" to an opinion which involves expressing hatred, violence, xenophobia, racism, ***ism, bigoted and generally anti social? I'd think any right minded person might think that such deeply held views are not acceptable in any civilised society, but obviously in todays climate it seems one must "respect" the hate mongers whatever their political leanings.
One man's meat is another's poison
Yes but that depends on your definition of morality which won't necessarily accord with others' definitions. For example an EFL supporter may consider it immoral to allow what in their opinion might be excessive immigration.... You can't judge others by your standards - you're not a god that makes the rules
Not by my standards, no…and I’m not trying to, but I think you’ve touched on a topical issue.
People will argue about the rights, wrongs and practicality of immigration. I have my views, you and those further to the right will differ, hence ‘one man’s meat is another man’s poison’, but once someone turns their views into, for instance, actions that justify arson and the attempted murder of immigrants/asylum seekers then they have crossed the line and are surely behaving/advocating behaviour which is equally toxic and ‘poisonous’ to us both.
