Bolugna want Heggem for 10 million

Much as I like Heggem, 10 million would represent an enormous profit after just 12 months and difficult for the club to refuse!

Can’t argue with the profit element….notwithstanding I hope we don’t sell.

This has been coming and I think Patel knew this, which is why his replacement was already signed.

It represents good business and planning, keeping us within range of PSR and no doubt it will offset the money spent on Heggebo. I would expect a few mill to be spent as we badly need 4 or 5 players.

Heggem will be a real loss and we have just got to hope the recruitment team pull another blinder.

£10 m (quoted elsewhere as £6.5m) would indeed be a good bit of business and I don't dispute that it could be used to improve areas of the squad elsewhere (a creative midfielder and decent goalkeeper come to mind). And yet...

Surely, if we want to rebuild and push for play offs we need to retain the likes of Fellows, Heggem and Price? Moreover, if Heggem goes our back 4 become Furlong, Phillips, Campbell and Taylor and whilst Styles might be moved back to help out he is no natural LB with the only other cover being Bartley and-if he too is not gone-Frabotta. Not ideal. The moot point is then whether it is worth losing Heggem and weakening our back 4 in exchange for possible improvements elsewhere on the pitch.

Good points Omeg, I do think though that we should give up on thinking of promotion for a while. It took Brentford a while before they were ready for the Prem. I do like Furlong being captain though. Hes a reliable ever present and consistent. Having Wallace as captain when he was hardly on the pitch wasnt doing us any favours. Im really worried that Heggebo might be another dud, I hope not. The one match I watched I didnt realise he was playing till I checked the team sheet after the match.
