Tidy player but a bit lightweight. I cant see how JG released a player like Babunski only to replace with another player who fits a similar mould

Hopefully with the money made getting through to play Rapid the chairman will give Goodwin a bit more finances to play with.

    New signing:Julius Eskesen

Julius Eskesen has been a key player for Haugesund in recent years, but now the parties are parting ways.

TV 2 has been informed that Haugesund has reached an agreement with the Scottish top club Dundee United regarding a transfer for the 26-year-old.

Eskesen's contract ? who has played a total of 85 games for Haugesund in the Eliteserien ? expires after the season, and therefore Haugesund has been open to selling the Dane now.

As TV 2 understands it, Haugesund will not receive a transfer fee now, but instead bonuses if certain outcomes occur. Haugesund has also secured resale percentages.

? It is true that Julius is leaving. We will receive a small transfer fee and a larger resale clause, sporting director Jostein Grindhaug told Haugesunds Avis earlier Monday.

However, he would not reveal which club he was talking about.

Julius Eskesen has not played for Haugesund since July 6th against Sarpsborg 08 due to injury, but the medical test is not expected to be a challenge. It is expected to be done on Tuesday.

Jostein Grindhaug in Haugesund does not wish to comment on TV 2's information. General manager Martin Fauskanger has not responded to TV 2's inquiries.

The fact they are willing to focus on a sell on clause rather than a transfer fee suggests they are confident that he will progress.

    AI verdict

    Style of Play & Strengths

Work Ethic & Involvement: Known as a hardworking, ball-oriented player who thrives in tight situations and small-space play
    Defensive & Creative Contribution:
Excels in duels and defensive coverage.
Capable of chance creation and initiating attacks through progressive passing
Versatility: Comfortable across central, attacking, and wide midfield roles

What He Brings to Dundee United

Midfield Energy & Work Rate Enhances ball retention, pressing, and link-play

Defensive Solidity + Counterplay Strengthens transition from defence to attack

Tactical Flexibility Offers options in central, attacking, or wide roles

Experience & Winning Mentality Familiar with domestic cup success; brings maturity

Age & Potential Upside At 26, entering prime years; valuable asset with resale potential

    Final Take

Eskesen seems a smart midfield acquisition for Dundee United?combining defensive reliability, creative spark, and positional adaptability. While his recent goal/assist output isn?t standout, his all-around contribution and industrious style could bolster United?s engine room, particularly in high-tempo Scottish Premiership matches. If United can play to his strengths?compact passing play, solid pressing?he could become a valuable asset both on the pitch and down the line.

A friendly word of advice, be very wary of anything a large language model has to say, especially about niche things like Dundee United.
