I would say this window has been indicative of the state we?re at as a club.

We are in that transition period where we are progressing, but not at that top table yet.

Meaning we cannot give top talent the ?pride?? For want of a better word of having played for say Man U or Liverpool.

And we cannot not beat them either on wages to ?compensate? for signing for us over them.

I for one think we need to be looking at those players with something to prove - although it is nice to be linked to the top table - these guys think they have already made it if they sign for the cartel clubs.

When in fact they are going to go there and stagnate, or worse go backwards - because they are 9/10 times not all they have read about themselves in the media.

They don?t think they need an Eddie Howe to develop them, they already believe they are the new Messi and Ronaldo?s

Where in actual fact, the premier league is a different beast, Amorim doesn?t develop his players, he doesn?t help them acclimatise.

He chucks them into his system, and if they don?t succeed, throws them under the bus to save himself from criticism.

Burn, Bruno, JL, Tonali, Tino, Hall, Isak, even Murphy need to be used as shining examples to show how players can improve at this club - but that will only work on players that know they can become better.

Maybe we do need to look at that next tier down - hungry players who will work hard to improve themselves.

Not the ?200k+ per week players who go through the motions on the pitch because they believe their own hype.
