How many times can people get abused and bullied? Can people stand an especially respectable young woman take?
As mods, I think it's about time you got rid of weed. In these current times, this should not be allowed.
I should know, as I should have been given a ban a couple of times. Short bans are okay for warning, but if they persist, if that doesn't work, so be it, get rid.
While our site was down, I started reading the marching on forums, and I went Whoa, how respectable are these people. All different views but respectable replies.
This is the first and only Leeds forum I have joined or posted and I like the people whom I have met in this short time. Even in my grumps and quit times, I have always come back. I'm old, sick, and can take it, but when it comes to women, that should not be allowed under any format.
We all have problems; not one person is the same, but everyone should feel safe in a community environment, which places like these are.

Slight counter point. The mods don’t get paid and do it voluntarily and the approach on here has always been light touch which I like but if they have to step in they do.

I think there is a broader responsibility on all of us to behave respectfully or call out bad behaviour when we see it.

The one person who made a comment to MT hasn’t been on here for ages and I think various people made their views clear and MT herself provided a good riposte.

The other person who often annoys people I think lots of us call that out but often the best way is to just ignore it and support the person getting grief.

Give how glitchy the site is and some of the other changes not sure how much control the mods have now anyway but I think they do a very good job and strike a pretty good balance .

Sorry, but they voluntarily take it on and should mod accordingly. I volunteer at the food bank here and pass food out but if I see someone greedy, ohh know they have money, I send them packing. As referring to WTF well he should be banned and if he keeps doing it banned for good. I know if people didn't speak up, I wouldn't have known what I had said. The other tosser as you said, comes on every now and then. What value is he to the group, apart from abusing a woman? On WTF, I agree on most of his views, it's just the language that comes afterward that's the problem, but then a lot of the time his provoked for his views also, so not his fault entirely! Why can't we act like a community and make it safe?

Disagree on that Oz - Mods intervene if they have too and have a history of doing to but only if the behaviour is beyond the pale and persistent.

However, lots of us still call out persistent bad behaviour and there is a degree of self moderation that takes place. Mrs O will get involved if needed as will others.

Putting loads of obligations on the mods on borderline stuff will be another nail in the forum?s coffin to add to the self inflicted ones footy mad hammer in.

Dont participate to much on social media myself nowadays only with my genuine football mates & stuff I do musically - so always safe.

My Mum often got it too but if anyone wanted to take it 'further' then she was easily identifiable being part of a group of 50 Leeds fans holding up a 6' 4' banner weekly, surprisingly she never had an issue in the real-world as a Leeds fan but got a hell of alot of weird stuff in her message box regardless, for sure & still does. 😂

But I agree with you that the odd morons that pop up do spoil it, for sure. But like Mum I am not gonna put a 'mask-on' to hide who I am as with my mental history I am pleased to have found my 'real-self' at last with all the good folks on here helping me along my journey through the bad times which I will never forget.
My pics are to show anyone that anything is possible for those suffering mental health issues if folks just reach out & get help.

Hell, many folks on here are great mentors FWIW & I have been lucky to have had many great mentors along the way from all walks of life to learn from this particular forum - hence my Psychology degree course cos I wanna give something back to those in need, mate.

So not gonna complain as opinions are an entitlement & jerks are never gonna say them face to face, pity them if they did as Mum made all 4 of us do martial arts/self defence classes when we were kids for good reason !

Just read the offending thread and it seems to me that MT and MrsO more than won the "argument" such as it was (unnecessarily personal though it may have started).

If you want more heavy handed moderation, you may need to suggest as much to the Footymad overlords as I'm not on here to disrupt playground spats.

Feel free to let me know otherwise. I'm not always right when it comes to interpreting the typed outpourings of others.
