The job title "Director of Football" can mean such a myriad of different things.
I've no clue what the guy did, but I've heard he's an OK bloke so good luck to him.

We have went through about 5 mangers and had a complete overhaul of the squad almost every summer since he became director of football so I think its fair to say that he should be taking some of the blame for that.
Aye you make fair points Rico.
But, Maybe the job as director of football (what the fcuk that actually means) was just a bit above his calling and he wisna up to it.
A bit bitter sweet here, don't know the lad at all but by all accounts he is a dandy through and through so fair play to hm for trying his best, looks like his best just wasn't good enough. Ah the best min in whatever your next gig entails.
Don't suppose you could do us all one last favour before you go tho? Could you please take that useless c.unt Burrows with you, please !!!

Here is what a director of football does.

A director of football (or Sporting Director) oversees a club's footballing operations, including long-term strategy, player transfers, youth development, and coaching philosophy, acting as a strategic link between the board and the manager to ensure continuity and aligned sporting goals from the academy to the first team. They are responsible for setting the club's playing style, identifying and recruiting talent, managing budgets, and improving facilities and performance departments.

Again I have nothing personal against Steven Gunn but I dont think he has done a particularly good job and shouldnt be above criticism because he is a nice guy.

I dont know Glass,Goodwin,Robson or Thelin but the majority of them seem like decent people,it hasnt stopped people from criticising them though.

Fair enough, so maybe my point about this actual position being "above his calling" is pretty much on the mark as well. Bt he should have also known that and turned it down, as it has proved to be too much for him and in all fairness it has turned out he wisna very good at it.
Would still be fkn delighted if he managed to take Burrows with him

No one is saying he doesn’t deserve criticism…

I know you enjoy the devils advocate role Rico but it’s not about any actual valid criticism, it’s about the likes of what DD says - the ‘OTT’ nature of it with regards to Gunn.
You frequent the Hat, you’ve surely seen it. Or from the likes of that muppet on here. Just plain nasty. The go to guy when someone wanted to be a keyboard warrior. Jack MacKenzie was another that got similar treatment.

It was about time he relinquished his duties of that role at Aberdeen FC. We need different eyes and someone of a bit different nature.
Burrows is another who holds a major position at the club with no real substance.
Aberdeen need (as I have been saying for years) to up their game.
I believe both guys work hard but don’t substantiate the key roles they hold.
The pressure is on Dave Cormack to provide the club with a far more suitable candidate than what Steven Gunn was.
Rumours of things changing at Aberdeen are obviously becoming evident. Fresh investment, board level changes aren’t a bad thing.
We can probably all agree that we all want the best for the club. We just require the correct people to make the decisive decisions. That has been the root of our problems for too long.

Yeah the middle aged men on the hat are brutal towards Gunn and I agree that it?s over the top but they are like that with everyone, pretty sad really.Same goes for rj who like the hat users seems to hate everyone at the club.

Anyway I said all along I didnt think he had the experience for the job but good luck to him.Hopefully the club bring in an experienced director of football who will know how to run the club.

So to cut a long story short, you agreed with me that Gunn wasn?t really the guy for that job.

Anyone else in any particular role at the club that you think similar of?

    Are you talking about Burrows?

Im not really sure about him as he doesnt really have anything to do with the football side of things.

He does seem to take a lot of credit for stuff that hasnt really got a lot to do with him.

Record shirt sales and season tickets sold for example.

Feck me, Gunners gone/going and now Burrows is useless.

Can you elaborate why he is useless?
