    Mason

Slowly turning into Corberan, negative boring football with nothing up front, going to be a long season watching this slow pedestrian football

Car crash of a starting line up which offered no threat going forward and poor decision dropping Mikey. Styles poor in that position and again Mowatt and Mulumby offer no creativity. Speaking to Boro supporters in the pub and they said they were glad Mowatt left them as too slow.

Campbell poor with ball at his feet too. Playing Wallace who can?t run as his legs have gone after not playing for a year sums up whether we have moved forward.

Early days with only 6 games in but surely lessons to be learnt by Mason. I would have been happy to take a point away at Boro but totally agree that the starting line up very likely cost us that tonight.

Too many square pegs in round holes, Gilchrist and Taylor have to start, Mowatt and Molumby don?t work, why not put Styles in midfield along with Price, Junior and Johnston need to play to give us more energy, Wallace needs to put the cones out, looks like we have a rookie manager who needs to learn from his mistakes very quickly otherwise can?t see him lasting the season

Have to admit, it did seem a strange starting line-up. I realise that it is early days but the approach did appear to resemble the defensive style that did not serve us well last season. As I have stated before, we need to adopt a more on the front foot approach and to select players in their best positions.

Totally agree LB. I bet another poster in the name of Boingy thinks the starting line up should not have been changed since the magnificent performance against Derby. I bet the view from him last night was we played like Barcelona too!

Those at the match like myself who thought the starting line up was a car crash and we offered nothing up front until the suns came on - were on the hard stuff 😭😭🤣

Mason got it wrong last night and whilst it?s too early to judge - his lack of experience is worrying!

Mason got his team wrong yesterday, but I do think if you go front foot away at Boro this season, it would be a cricket score. They are a very good side.

We needed more bravery on the ball and some pace to break on them. Mulumby in the cam, Price on the wing and no Johnston was an error.

That Collyer is decent and hasnt come here to sit on the bench. I would be annoyed if he doesnt get a go at Leicester.

Bang on there Matt although had Mason picked the right team I thought they were there for the taking. They are good but not that good if attacked. You are right about Collyer as he looks calm and collected on the ball and has good feet.

I know a couple of Man U season ticket holders ( one in our family ) and shocked he?s not getting game time as really rated by them. I was in the pub before the game speaking to a good bunch of Boro fans who all said Mowatt was too slow and were glad to see the back of him. Molumby has tenacity but lacks talent and creativity. Styles should be played in the middle as he?s not a defender! Whatever anyone thinks of Wallace it was a poor decision starting him when pace was needed.

Sadly Mason lacks experience and needs to be ruthless with his decision making! Three points from Leicester is a must now but can?t see changes being made

I wonder if Abella has a lot to do with running the team, he seems to have Mason?s ear during games, he?s a remnant of the Corberan style of play, which we all got fed up of watching, I thought yesterday Mason had started to clone into Corberan with his ridiculous team selection and style of play, as AL says changes needed for Leicester but the Corberan/Mason way won?t change until it?s too late as per usual

Let’s try to remain positive and trust that Mason will have recognised the deficiencies in his starting line up. He’s no fool, but needs to have the courage to make his own mind up. Leicester is now a key game and specifically an opportunity for him to react with his starting line up/formation.
There is a limit to how long the - early days reasoning - with be accepted and a repeat of the same pedestrian performance will rightly turn the crowd.
