Thought Id just pay this lad a compliment what an athlete he is and obviously as Parker says a model professional-
His pace and power and precision to pass waddle esque a 60 yard cross field pass to a team mates boot is a joy to watch - his reading where the opposing winger is going to go also still sharp as a knife and lastly his organising skills also brilliant.
Wasnt sure what to expect when he came to us but he is a little nugget of real quality even at his age.
Glad he came 👍
I have copied below a post I made back in August on the thread Best Summer Signing after seeing Kyle in the Lazio game. He is proving to be one of a number of shrewd/good signings. Parker has been able to blend these new signings into the squad that won promotion from the Championship without disrupting the team ethos. VK failed to do that with fatal results.
I know it’s only early doors but Kyle Walker is set fair to be our best summer signing. He is not faultless by any means and no longer has that absolutely blistering pace but his experience and ability to influence a game are plain to see. If some of our other summer signings Ugochukwu, Tchaouna and Broja prove to be as successful then relegation back to the Championship no longer looks like the inevitability it threatened to be. A few other teams that looked to be rock solid PL clubs are looking distinctly wobbly round the edges. West Ham for sure and they can take that ghastly stadium with them. And I would include Brentford in there. If you can nullify Damsgaard they do not pose the attacking threat they posed under Thomas Frank. Maybe there is some hope this season after all.
Yes, Outwood, there is definitely hope this time. I reckon we will stay up.
A first class professional in every department of the game. His will to win is evident.
Whoever had the idea to try and sign Kyle Walker needs a gong striking.
Beyond criticism in every way possible. I love him.![]()
That's unusually positive for you, BT. A bit like the Ian Wright signing, in that he's a **** until he signs for us. Then he becomes a legend.
Cracking signing who is performing as well as I thought he would. It is also good to see him having quiet words and, sometimes not so quiet words, with other younger team members and giving advice. Just what you want if you want to learn ---Kyle has done a lot!
We looked weak in midfield yesterday without Big Les. Walker kept stepping up into midfield to get us up the pitch because he could see we were struggling, with Laurent slotting into the RFB slot
If we have go on a bad run with injuries we are going to struggle, as the bench isn't good enough at this level
Total bloody nonsense ballcock, Florentino was immense, the Skipper was tidy and industrious, Laurent looks to me to be the best bargain buy ever, Hannibal was full of energy when he came on and Ugochukwa has had a nice little rest.
We are still blending but we look better than tidy.
