Nice to hear JG?s name being sung again today

Not heard anything more about a longer term contract - club should get this done whilst we have the two week break

Finally a new contract for JG

Happy with that, hoping he still has long left in charge than he has been in charge already

Must admit that I wouldn't have been sorry to see him go on a few occasions over the last couple of years but very glad to have been proved wrong in that regard. Still early days but this squad has me looking forward to United matches in a way that I haven't done for a long time.

A few years of stability with the same manager building year on year will be very good for us, especially if the standard of recruitment is anywhere near as good as it has been this season.

    Well done Jim.

    12 months rolling contract.

Not sure how that works - can he just leave at the end of 12 months

    It is on improved terms

I suppose the reality is that if Celtic or whoever do come calling that we would have to let him go anyway

Does sound like there is a commitment on both sides though which is good

It means he'll always have 12 months notice to give (or the club to him). So, always a year left on his contract. I think.

Yip... 12 months after tomorrow, then the next day, then the next day etc etc. Every day Jim and the club have a 12 months contract, unless they agree to change it by mutual agreement. Glad it happened. Maybe would have preferred a 2 year one, with a years option for more stability, but all considered, a reasonable deal.

Glad Goodwin has got his new deal, well deserved. Much prefer listening to him than say Tam Courts or Liam Fox. Also a manager who puts round pegs in round holes reaps the rewards of what's worked in the past and dealing with the basics.

All the new signings have been brought in with little or no outlay. The club is signing players within the wage structure. No daft signings like Tony Watt who on his outlay was never worth what he got. We've signed players with hunger, determination and good character.

Luigi has been a big part in this transition and he must be given a mention. Gone about his work quietly and by doing this, it is more recognised than the former SD who wanted the attention but nowhere near as good. Go figure.

Got to also mention Jim's son, Ross... (kiddin') He has done an outstanding job using whatever they call it these days to target players that will fit in to our required system. Whatever he is looking at to target a United player , is working big time.

All in all, things in every department seem to be linking up, and working well. It may not last forever, but... hey.. it could be a LOT worse.

That's so sad, I hadn't heard that. RIP Shug.
