Like most folk, I really hope this becomes a permanent peace. However, alongside the 20 points in the plan, there's one, IMO, pressing problem that needs to solved if there is to be lasting peace. That is almost 80 years in which "settlers" have stolen land from Palestinians in Israel, bulldozed their homes or simply taken them over, burning and bulldozing of Palestinian olive groves, assault and murder of Palestinians. All without any settler being arrested, tried and, if found guilty, sentenced and jailed. It is this that is one of the major reasons Hamas exists. Failure to remedy it will see more attacks on Israeli Jews and Zionists which will instigate more bombing of Gaza and the West Bank.

If the root cause isn't addressed, we will get the same outcome.
Meanwhile Hamas are emerging and rounding up Palestinians and executing them, under the guise of collaboration etc. Will there be mass marching, to express outrage at these acts, or will the Jews get the blame for this as well?

I'll investigate as there's been no mention of it over here.

It seems you are right. Is Hamas going to prove to be the stumbling block that sees the renewal of hostilities that will result on what's left of Gaza being reduced to rubble? I fear it probably is.

Jeremy Bowen…probably the best known BBC war correspondent, currently the Middle East correspondent. A man to take notice of imo.

Just for information. I know of no one personally, and certainly no one on here who has ever expressed support for Hamas.

Anyway, seems I'm wrong about seeing the back of pro Palestine marches. Yesterday another big march in London seemingly led by that well known non anti Semite Mr Corbyn.

Strange, there is a form of peace there, the Palestinian civilians are hopeful/optimistic of an end to hostilities - although if TTR is right we will now see Hamas on other Palestine internecine killings. So what's this latest protest about, or couldn't these guys get their flights to Gaza to help out organised yet??

I know a few...albeit I don't think they would do a Shamima Begum. Probably more paper tigers.

Quite happy our MP Lindsey Farsnworth is voicing opposition to a planned housing estate on green belt land in Kilburn.

That sort of development is getting okd regularly so good luck to you/her in stopping it if that?s what you want. IMO Tants Meadow would become even more of a bottleneck unless an alternative access was built. Is there a consultation planned?

    Yeah traffic won't be great.

Local amenities too such as schools and doctors will have more strain on them.

There is a meeting at the chapel next week to discuss further. There is a date in November set for getting objections in.

They are trying to get it reclassified as grey belt of course, doesn't seem to meet the requirements from what I've seen. Seems grey belt is supposed to be land thats derelict but sits within the green belt. I wouldn't describe the area they are looking to build on as poor quality or previously developed. I know there are other rules such as sustainability they will probably use to push it through.

As you say though I think they will get the go ahead anyway despite objections.
