Some of the news linking SP with the possible sack is frankly ridiculous. However, I am concerned with decisions being made in respect of dropping players etc. We seem to have a manager, like Kompany, who is probably a good coach but seems to be terrible at managing people and there feelings. As a player he was very good and never really had to face being dropped very often so has no experience of what it is like to be dropped. IMO he provides the persona that if a player is dropped he thinks that the player should just get on with it. But it doesn't matter what level or sport you play being dropped can result in loss of confidence etc., but that can be cushioned by rational evidence for the reasons. This is where a manger knows who will just get on with it and those that need an arm around and a rational chat. I get the feeling this is where Parker shares his methods with Kompany. I know the game is brutal but sometimes you need to give some players more understanding than others to ensure they stay within the thougfhts of the manager,
