Ohh, I see why he played the 3 centre backs, maybe his learning and the 2 strikers. Maybe if he left it like that, we wouldn't have been beaten by City. This is Leeds losing the easy ones and playing out of our skins against the top side, unreal.

Well, that was a shock to me. I was very sick and ended up in the hospital, so I missed the game. I just thought of looking it up and couldn't believe my eyes.

Sorry to hear that Oz hope you are safely back at home.
So we have 5 wingers: Okafor, harrison, James, Gnonto and Aaronson. I have no idea how much they cost collectively. None started the match. We played with 2 up front and 5 at the back. 2 overlapping wing-backs. With the 2 up front and no wingers, I thought it was England 1966. Even then, it was 4-4-2 and the 2 wide midfielders pushed up. This was 5-3-2. A shape i have not seen too often. I am struggling to recall if I have ever seen it.
By luck or judgement he?s found a formula
Can you imagine if he switched it up now and then how difficult we'd be to prepare for
The only negative to this formation is that we can't play it long term. The work rate is too high for the size of our squad. you could see how tired our players were at the end of this game.
If we can't get top-quality players, we will be forced to play like this. I also feel it's less demanding than our normal game. Teams will work out our game now, and we will be back to the drawing board. But while it works, use it.
And Cherrypie, this game plan has been around for years. The Italians used to use it all the time. Not sure nowadays, I don't watch much international games.
Think it allows more of our influential players to be on the pitch at the same time and in an effective way.
Ofakor can play second striker and is tricky with pace. He was excellent when he came on. Gnonto can also play that role and seems to for Italy u21.
The losers are really Harrison and James (who is out for a while) - Arronson can play the advanced mid role in the 3 as back up if needed.
Bijol looked very good in a back 3 and there was also lots of cover.
Love playing with two up top with balls being whipped in by full backs - was a little redolent of the Gary Kelly and Tony Dorigo era of flying full backs with Chappers and Rodders up top.
Cp,
Not a technical wizard on coaching but thought it looked more like a 3 2 3 2 if such a thing exists.
It was really effective whatever it was.
Nmencha and DCL really played well together
