I think I get your point though. They are still too committed to fossil fuels to maximise short term income and I can't argue with that other than say China's emissions are slowing and the USA were moving in the right direction until Trump came along! It's slow, slow progress and I concede that you and animal are both correct in that it comes at a considerable cost to us in the here and now.

When we were selling our last house we had a couple living in Switzerland and he worked in the lab that detected the pollutants that affected the Ozone layer.
He said at the time that there was a surge in chinas production and use of filler foam that was the biggest thing effecting the Ozone layer.

Apart from that there were no problem or holes in the layer.

As Howdy has suggested. The future problem will be solved with new technologies.

Taking the CO2 out of the air affects everything apparently. It is said to be the gas of life.

Certainly new technologies have been invested in to combat a none existing problem! Every scientist gets money for a report that denounces CO2.

I am sure that you could get a grant saying that by extending the foreskins of elephants reduces CO2 you would de entitled to a grant.
