Cos we were being ****ed by PSR and risked a points deduction if we didn't balance the books.

But yes, I agree with you in what your saying about how he's come ****ing amazing.

I get that part Jammy, and I didn’t explain what I was thinking, but what about our training and coaching is so poor that they didn’t recognise the potential Anderson had? My thoughts… Longstaff was still an Eddie favourite at the time, but Elliot hit the ground running at Forest and never looked back.

How did we not recognise his ability/potential… and sell of someone else? £15M could have been raised elsewhere surely.

Sadly it was a case of time being against the club and it was a fire sale. Eddie has said on multiple occasions that he never wanted to lose Elliot. He was a big part of his plans but it was a case of needs must.

I can see him staying at Forest, running his contract down to the last season and then resign for the Toon.

I think it comes down to clubs knowing we were desperate - could we have got ?15 million for Longstaff, yes, but clubs wouldn't offer that as they knew we needed cash.

I can’t believe we got to the final week and suddenly realised we were 15M short… the club would have known their financial status for a long time… the figures come out in Jan for the season they are reporting/ensuring balance on… they had plenty of time to work it out… Longstaff, Targett, Willock.

We also brought in Vlachidimos for £20m, so would have been paying the first year of that deal too in the period… so it wasn’t even £15m that would be showing on the books.

If I remember correctly. It was closer to 60m quid over PSR limit.

The net was 15m but the gross price which was booked against the PSR was closer to 35m + the 33m for Minteh.
