Boos ring out at the final whistle. Closer to relegation and honestly think the possibility is high of going down under Mason

    Get Mason OUT

Sliding down the table, and I can?t see us get much in the upcoming games, alas.

TBH, I think our squad is weaker than most other squads in the league. Especially when it comes to defenders and GKs.

And, creative central midfielders with pace.

    And goal scorers.

    Cover and depth.

    Oh?

We don't have a great squad nor do we have much depth but this group of players have still proven that they can perform far better than they have shown for much of this game. Given this, it is understandable that fans feel that Mason is, if not the main problem, clearly not the solution.

Personally, I think the players must shoulder more than a little responsibility for some of our poor performances and mistakes but ultimately Mason's job-like any manager-is to get the best out of his available resources and he has been far too inconsistent in being able to achieve this. We are sleep walking ourselves down the table and if corrective action is to be taken it has to be taken now. Judging from Nestor's statement however, I think they will allow him more time still.

As for today's game, too little too late in too many aspects. After Diakite's late scrambled goal we started piling the pressure on and Grant was unlucky not to snatch us a point with that last strike of the game against the cross bar but we should never have got ourselves in that position in the first place.

Definitely Mason as nobody could convince me Hull and Bristol have better players. They do though have decent managers not some boring
t wat who stands on the touch line smirking with hands in pockets. Mason could not inspire an hungry stray dog with a juicy bone FFS

We are crying out for a number 10. Price, match after match is the worst player on the pitch. We know he has ability but his confidence has gone and a bit of time away from the side would do him good. But there is no one to replace him with.

Bany is injured again and it is obvious he cannot meet the physical demands of the league.

    This needs addressing urgently

A few injuries like we have at the moment and the lack of depth in the squad becomes increasingly apparent but we have to deal with it and make the most of what we do have. In this respect, whilst I think Mason has (finally) got some of his selections and formations right, others still seem questionable. One of these is the decision to stick with Wildsmith ahead of Griffiths and the other is his insistence on continuing to play Price.

I totally agree that we need someone to play behind Heggebo and I know that both Illing-Junior and Maja have been underwhelming when they have played there and that Bany is apparently injured again but Price is clearly also not performing. Mason's options are therefore limited so why not at least try giving Dike more game time or giving Ollie Bostock his opportunity? Neither have to play 90 mins but I don't feel we have anything to lose by giving them their chance and, at the moment, I think I'd prefer Junior to start than Price.

The number 10 slot is definitely one that needs addressing but my interpretation of Nestor's open letter is that the club's financial situation won't improve until the Summer when a few on high salaries will be out of contract and off the wage bill so I honestly don't expect much from the coming transfer window.

They said last Jan that they wouldn’t spend much. Then they paid £2.5m for Price and £3.3m for Bany. It will be tight Im sure and they will want to manage expectations but I suspect they will bring in one or two. Maybe a loan to buy like we did with Perreira.

I am almost certain Dike cant sprint any more.

Wildsmith is a very poor goalkeeper so why does Mason play him and not Griffiths? He should have done better with both of the goals today and to my mind it is very noticeable that since he has been in the side the defence has looked far more shaky. Griffiths has made the odd mistake but he has far more potential than Wildsmith. For goodness sake Mason, get Griffiths back in the side.
