Give a Manager the tools and he can do a job

Seems Leam Richardson is doing well with Reading, so much so the club now has their eye on the League 1 play offs.
Having taken 15 points form the last 18, they have shot up the table.

Whilst he was appointed to us, I personally don't feel Richardson ever stood a chance with our set up, players he'd inherited and facilities etc. He should have been given more time, investment into the team and who knows what might have turned out.

His downside, poor interviewing skills, didn't adhere him well to fans and probably why he was never really taken in by Millers fans.

NB. The new owner of Reading FC, Rob Couhig, has re opened the swimming pool and is heavy into cryotherapy. Something we can only dream about I suppose and how that may have well have aided the recovery of our this seasons sick bay.

Richardson had no chance with us I completely agree. He inherited a mess in the Championship as bad, if not worse, than the circus Paul Warne inherited after the Alan Stubbs/Kenny Jackett farce.

People were sympathetic to Warne and were mostly understanding as that season was lost and relegation inevitable. His reluctant everyman persona won a lot of people over and most wanted him to succeed (although he seemed to lose a lot of support the first time he wore a bobble hat )

Richardson came across more dour, irritated, overly keen for people to know it wasn't his fault. It's no wonder really that TS wanted to replace him with someone he thought the fans would get behind so the knee jerk decision to bring Steve Evans in happened. What is more concerning to me though is that Matt Taylor, Richardson and Steve Evans all came to us with decent reputations for getting results and all tanked

Like all managers. They need 2 or 3 windows to tell folk if they are any good at managing...
timing can also play a big part in management. If you inherit a team full of players who have no resell value and are still under contract. It's more difficult... Could just be Richardson has taken over at the perfect time.

When he took over we were poor, when he left we were much worse, also had the personality of a dishcloth.

He is probably having one of those very very very lucky runs , that MH had. You know the 9 game one , when at the time only Arsenal equaled,

You make your own luck. Knew about Benson before we signed him. Regards Kayode. Hamshaw says he's confined to indoors training not made it outside yet!
