Crewe has signed Alfie Pond from Wolves on loan. Don?t think Williams will be returning soon !
…… and Golding returns to Oxford.
What do we know about him?
U21 captain (but is 21), 6'3" like Golding - who's clearly not going to be fit in a hurry - played 1 minute for Wolves 1st team.
I also noticed his last loan was to Stockport. So he has been traded down.
Talking of Stockport, I wonder if any other people will be having their loan periods cut short?
His loan to Stockport was until January 2024, i.e. at this level. Hasn't been out on loan since then. Yes, i suspect they might be ending a current loan though. Wonder if like Golding we have a replacement in mind. Rumour has it we are looking at a League 1 Keeper who's not playing and needs to, which would mean goodbye Waller too if true.
So hopefully that would be 2 more loans ended.....?
So LB talks about 'liking to get two players in ...' and that 'there are players wanting more minutes on the pitch.....' hinting they want to leave/return/go on loan. One person has been to talk to him. So, any conjecture on who might go?
Mingi and Rankine for me. Can it be anyone else?
I'm well past my sell by date but in the old days all clubs had reserve teams playing every week and it helped squad players to get in senior football. There were no loan players idea which imo is a bad thing for football as clubs can have players say from the PL that can assist in promotion and relegation. Is it 7 subs we have now?
Secondly, Its terrible players sitting on the benches either as subs or just on match days in the seats and to watch others on the pitch and all they are getting is some training stints etc...
If we have 7 subs, then lets use the lot of them as they must be fitter coming on later in the game.
My problem is having a lone striker and then 10 players behind and then we complain when no goals are scored or just one like yesterday! They all do it and we need managers with some brain to get us out of this malaize as most of these managers are uneducated, being ex players etc...I don't mind that but they do need to think more and the Chairmen and Directors of these clubs ought to tell em!!
