Hull 2 (McBurnie 24’pen, Slater 39’) - Swansea 1 (Cullen 59’)
A game of two halves. Unfortunately another defeat on the road. It could have been an away win but for chances missed
First-half -
Vipotnik guilty of shooting wide of an open goal - twice! A stupid gift of a penalty for hand-ball by Cabango, arm outstretched what was he doing, McBurnie sent Vigouroux the wrong way 1-0.
A 30 yard volley from the unmarked Slater 2-0.
A late Hull surge on our goal but we held firm
HT: 2-0
Second-half -
All Swansea as they pinned Hull back in their final third most of the time, except for the occasional foray, but all our chances were well saved, a Cullen header just before he scored was saved full stretch and a Stamenic volley also saved full stretch. Goalmouth scrambles galore but the ball wouldn’t fall for us, Hull defending desperately.
Surprisingly (although not surprisingly thinking about it, with many a ref biased against us) there were just four minutes time added on by the ref, but there were ten substitutions plus injury time to be taken into account.
(NB: Whilst not a strict rule, referees often work with a rule of thumb of approximately 30 seconds per substitution to account for the player leaving the field and the new player entering).
At the end of the day another loss though, no matter how unfortunate we were not to score and win the game.
