He definitely didn't follow us during the 1998-2006 era

I don't think it was that lucky, saw the highlights and it was the a red for me, you can see from the behind the goal view Watters would have got through and got a shot away, no way Neilson was getting back in time, Watters is explosive over a short space and if not impeded was away

I refer to it being lucky, as you never know which decision you'll get with these bunch of incompetent officials; another VAR may have not intervened and equally another ref may have brandished a straight RED.

For me it was a RED also, irrespective of the goal scoring opportunity, as Watters was pole axed at least at thigh height and deliberately. Whereas we have seen Gollum try to explain a Celtic players shin high (out of control) tackle on Ferry, justifying yellow and no VAR intervention; and conversely a VAR intervene to get Fatah sent off for a split second miss of the ball against Hearts, which justified a yellow at most.

Its a damn lottery and therefore 'lucky' in that respect.

He definitely f*cking did. We still had better players then than now, the league in general was a much better standard then too.

No chance, that era was the worst ever for the spl outside the big two the keepers were all terrible for the most part as were the defences , it reflected in the national side being an embarrassment too

There were some good players but the defending on the whole was awful across the board

The drop off in standard from the mid 90s to the next decade was stark

Farrugia was constantly in the refs ear...which was a nice change to our normal submissive approach.

Here is my take on the red card, first time I saw it on TV I thought that's incredibly harsh, Neilson is on the outside, who could be argued to be covering, even though he isn't the fastest. When I saw the replay angle I actually think it's the correct decision, as Watters direction is taking the ball in a direction that will get him in on goal. But that's all subjective, I don't know why VAR is getting involved, the ref has had good view and made his decision, it's almost re-reffing the game. Also thought Sapsford was lucky to get away with a clumsy challenge in the box.

Some f*cking incredible decisions in the English FA Cup yesterday with no VAR in operation. I think refs are getting too reliant on it making decisions for them.

Good to see us jumping up to 7th in the table today without kicking a ball
